Transylvania County Public Safety Brevard, North Carolina

This 56,000-square-foot, LEED® certified facility provides housing for 114 bed detention occupancy and its related support space, including kitchen and laundry, 911 communication, dispatch, and administrative offices. The front entrance is accentuated by exposed structural steel supported by natural stone cut from a nearby quarry. The exterior wall system is metal stud backup with a face brick and split face CMU veneer and all interior detention cell walls are load bearing reinforced CMU’s. Automated building systems include detention security, life safety systems, environmental controls, and IT wiring. This facility has been LEED® Silver Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
