Johnson Controls Battery Charging & Distribution Facility Florence, South Carolina

This fast-track, design–build shell building up-fit required interfacing with members of the Johnson Controls team located in Milwaukee, WI, Plymouth, MI, Cadiz, KY, and Matthews, NC.  To fully understand their process, our team members visited their other battery forming, filing, formation, and distribution facility, then took that experience and worked with Johnson Controls to design a more cost-efficient facility.  The existing 250,000 square-foot shell building required the addition of a hazardous materials storage and offloading building, cutting in of new dock doors, removal of the existing slab-on-grade to form containment and wash down areas, and the establishment of underground cast-in-place sumps and drainage systems.  Extensive HVAC and Electrical work were also performed.
