Richland County voters passed a $59 million bond referendum to build new libraries and update existing branches to better match the way customers need and use the library today. M. B. Kahn is providing comprehensive Project Management services, including community input sessions, design reviews, cost estimating, bid strategy, and on site construction monitoring.
Cooper branch, located in the hear of Forest Acres, SC, is characterized by a community of generations of users. The expansion of Cooper enables avid readers to browse and read in a beautiful space. Families with young children will be able to engage in a museum-like interactive children’s play area.
The $3 million project included renovation and reconfiguration of an existing 10,000 square foot facility and additional square footage for:
- Quiet reading room
- Plentiful seating
- Outdoor programming space
- Interactive children’s area
- Family Restroom and Nursing Mother’s Room
