Preconstruction Services The Role of Your Preconstruction Contractor

The process of turning your building dreams into reality can be filled with pitfalls. As a preconstruction contractor, M. B. Kahn is backed by years of general contracting experience that can navigate you around the pitfalls and guide you toward the most economical and timely construction answers. Though no two building endeavors are identical, our preconstruction services generally include providing conceptual estimates, schedules, and cash flow analyses. We also place an emphasis on answering your questions and guiding your project through the design process with no unpleasant surprises.

Detailed CapabilitiesWhat You Can Expect

We realize that your project’s overall success will be framed in the preconstruction phase. Our unfaltering belief in this means that we approach this responsibility with the utmost diligence. In our very first meeting we will discuss team responsibilities, overall budget expectations, overall schedule expectations, and design overview. We will then craft a preconstruction process specifically matched to your project’s needs.

During the preconstruction process we generally:

  • Provide Design Development estimates as required.
  • Develop and enact LEED accreditation strategies.
  • Analyze various building components for cost and value factors.
  • Advise designers on constructability issues.
  • Provide detailed construction schedules.
  • Qualify subcontractors for invited bids. This qualification will include performance history and financial wherewithal.
  • Provide three-dimensional construction documents based on the coordination of various design principals. This would include Building Information Modeling (BIM) based on collision studies.
  • Finalize all project design elements.
